So for several days now, all the weather channels have been predicting snow. Lots of snow. Up to 12 inches of snow. When I woke up at 2am this morning, I glanced out the window and saw...well...not snow. Disappointed but resigned to yet another snowless but icy winter, I settled back into bed with the knowledge that I had to be up in 3.5 hours to get ready for another day of work. I woke up at 5:30 and as I got up to start my day, I glanced out the window yet again and saw...well...six inches of snow and still coming! As Springfield is not a town capable of handling copious amounts of any kind of wetness, work has been cancelled for me! Yay! Time to settle down to a day of unexpected do-nothingness. And will I use this time wisely to catch up on some work? NO WAY! What a silly waste of a snow-day that would be! Actually, I might, but not until I've had some time to just play and enjoy my unexpected mini-vacation.
Side-note: We've apparently trained the neighbourhood birds to come to our house when the weather is bad. Within five minutes of it getting light this morning, I glanced out at our back porch and it was covered with birds waiting for bird seed! Either we've trained them or they've trained us because we did put out food for them right away.
"What is it and what mess can I make with it?"
Mara Jade - stomach deep in trouble.
Our back door - apparently the snow gods were spitting list night.
OK, seriously, how do you say "no" to a face like this? Especially when she's dumped her face into snow!
I was playing with our fun snow setting on our camera. I love my camera. One of the best buys I've made in a long time.
Ontology - a branch of metaphysics concerned with the nature of being - Merriam Webster. This is not a philosophical platform - it is simply me trying to consciously be. "For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit" (Romans 14:17). Therefore, "...train yourself to be godly...[for] godliness has value for all things…for both the present life and the life to come" (1 Timothy 4:7b-8). And therefore, I study ontology.
